Standard — the baseline every account runs on 

The Standard pool is the default lane for everyday operations — the routine sync, order, and inventory volume that makes up the vast majority of processing. It’s included on every account and sized for normal, day-to-day throughput. Most work begins and ends here without ever needing more. 

Elastic — capacity that expands the moment it’s needed 

The moment a process runs longer than the Standard pool’s time budget (10 minutes or 10 MB of data), OmnifiCX automatically promotes it to the Elastic pool. This happens with no manual intervention and delivers two things at once: 

  • Isolation — with no extra infrastructure. The slow or heavy process is moved completely out of the way of everything else, so one surge can’t drag down the rest of your traffic. And it happens without spinning up any additional infrastructure. Most platforms isolate workloads only by provisioning dedicated infrastructure — and that extra infrastructure drives costs up. OmnifiCX absorbs the surge within the existing platform, keeping your costs low.
  • Expansion Capacity scales up to absorb the surge, bounded by a hard limit so it never runs away — then scales back down once the spike passes. 

Elastic is automatic and invisible. You don’t request it and you don’t configure it; it simply catches the overflow when volume climbs. And it’s included in every plan by default — there’s no additional charge to absorb your surges. 

Extended — declared power for the long-running jobs

Some workloads are heavy by design — think a full catalog rebuild or a migration that runs for hours. For jobs that run longer than an hour, the Extended pool is an add-on you declare in advance, at design time. It’s a usage-billed pool that lives beyond the Elastic ceiling, so you only pay when it actually runs. No idle cost, no over-provisioning — capacity that’s there when you plan for it and silent when you don’t. 

The one guarantee that ties it all together: checkpointed handoffs
